Tim graduated with a degree in Law in 1979 and trained with several of the big firms.
Tim made a career changing decision in 1986 to become a bigger fish in a smaller pool and joined Griffin & King. Tim said at the time ‘I didn’t know what I’d let myself in for! But after a few months I realised I could make such a difference to a small business which was hugely rewarding’. Tim became a partner in1988.
Until 2003 Tim enjoyed looking after a mixed portfolio of clients as a general practitioner and only since 2003 has worked exclusively on business rescue and recovery and corporate and personal insolvency.
Tim’s background has meant that he has been at the sharp end of dealing with his clients’ problems – constantly monitoring and advising through the good times and the bad. He is well aware the difficulties in which a business can find themselves. This background has given him a thorough insight into the highs and lows of running a business. Understanding the importance of these skills, Tim has built up a team at Griffin & King who provide unique skills to help and turn around struggling business.
As a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and Chartered Accountant, Tim has a vast amount of experience in both personal and company insolvency and is frequently requested to write articles for the local media and give presentations on debt related issues.
As a lifetime Wolves supporter Tim knows only too well that there is fine line between success and failure! At least this has provided an opportunity to grow the Griffin & King football mug collection!
Tim is married, has two grown up sons, a dog called Bertie and lives in Stourbridge.
A exciting development is that Tim’s eldest son James has now joined the firm after graduating from Aberystwyth University ‘I am delighted that James has chosen Griffin & King for his career. The prospect of working together is great!’
With the challenges and stresses of running youth football teams behind him Tim has found a new challenges running marathons, with James – Follow our Facebook page for progress!
